“Wicked things- Part 1 (toys)…”

? Psalm 101:3 “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.”
▪️When I think about the time in which David wrote these words, approximately 5000 years ago, and when I think about our time, I understand in comparison to the “wicked things” that they could have had back then, in our day it is probably, if I am not mistaken, 1000 times worse and diverse.
▪️With the development of humankind, the devil has come up with new and newer “wicked things” understanding what kind of power they have to tempt and entice a person to sin. 
▪️And if at that time, David, being the King, could allow himself “wicked things” more than anyone else and have it before his very eyes and understand what all of it is leading to, even writing: “I will not set nothing wicked before my eyes”, then we, all the more so, today, with such great multiplication of “wicked things” that can lead to sin, have to be careful and have strong principles.  
▪️In the time when Jesus was being tempted by the devil in the desert, the devil himself “laid” before the eyes of Jesus all the things he hoped would entice Him: “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me’.” (Matthew 4:8-9) and so on. But Christ was firm in his decisions. 
▪️Also today the enemy of the souls of people, the devil, has laid out, and continues to do so, many various temptations before our eyes in this world that we live in.  His desire in doing this is to catch us in his net with his “bait”.
▪️We learn to be alert among all the various “wicked things” that the devil has laid out before our eyes without our participation and request and having victory over all of the temptations of the world. What a mistake it is when we, in addition to all of this that surrounds us and that which is not dependent on us, with our own hands lay before our eyes “wicked things” which lead to sin.
▪️The call is very simple: “there is that which we are not capable of changing: the ‘wicked things’ that the devil will lay before us like he did with Christ, that which is capable of tempting and luring a person into sin. Like Christ, we must stay vigilant so that we may recognize the arrows of the devil. Even more so, we must stay vigilant so that we do not become those who lay before ourselves and our children ‘wicked things’ and then try to fight them”.
▪️If we are speaking about our children, this often starts with children’s toys. There are so many, but among them we need to have a strict distinction in what to put before our children’s eyes and what not to put, remembering “you will reap what you sow”. This includes what you turn on for your kids and with it, what you end up feeding them, and what not to turn on before their eyes, what to read to them and what not to read, etc. 
▪️In my personal belief- every toy and picture that has an occult symbol in it (spider-man, pokemon, ghosts, etc.), this can be drawn onto a toy or can be the toy itself- all of it is “WICKED THINGS”!!! This also applies to computer games, cartoons, books, etc…
▪️This also applies to “educational” toys that form the conscience of a child. In my personal belief, I would never recommend to lay before the eyes of children “wicked things” in the form of a play weapon (guns, automatics, etc.). Also, barbie dolls that are unnatural in their proportions of the human body and physically traumatize girls who want to look like a barbie, who, in reality, does not exist. 
▪️Instead, purchase toys for your sons in the form of- construction, cars, play tools, etc. For girls- natural looking dolls, kitchen utensils, and all kinds of dishes, etc.
▪️How simple, yet how difficult this all seems… Unfortunately, parents do not always give this the proper attention, treating it like an insignificant thing, but at the same time, with their own hands, laying “wicked things” before their children’s eyes, which then leads to “wicked actions” that Christ spoke of: “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” (Mark 7:21-23). As you can see, one of these things is wickedness. 
▪️There are plenty of “wicked things” (temptations, enticements, leading to sin) that are laid out and aimed at our children in this world. If parents contribute to this and add “gas to the fire”, this is a great mistake. 

? In regards to adult “wicked things”, we will talk about this tomorrow at the bible breakfast. But for today, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful day and caution with “wicked things” in the toys we give our kids! Do not give these to them! (With prayer, Valeriy Bayko).
