“The best recipe against envy…”

 ? Romans 12:15 “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”
▪️Being happy when everything is going well for me, when everything is working out for me, when I have success is one thing. Being happy for a “stranger’s” success or having joy for your neighbor is more difficult, and sometimes doesn’t work at all. 
▪️We’re talking specifically about the success of our neighbor. To be joyful when sharing celebrations like a birthday or a wedding is easy. However, it’s not always easy for everyone as this does include spending money, which doesn’t come easily…
▪️Being happy for someone else’s success, achievements, and victories when you still don’t have any of those things and maybe never will, it’s not always for everyone, is showing spiritual maturity. 
▪️To truly “rejoice with those who rejoice” is an indicator of spiritual maturity and age. 
▪️ “Rejoice with those who rejoice” is a true and tried recipe against envy. 
▪️Envy- is a dangerous vice; “rottenness to the bones” (Proverbs 14:30); destroying the inner peace, emotion; feeling annoyed at the well-being of another; being displeased when seeing someone else’s joy. 
▪️If we give room to envy, other than destroying the inner peace and putting you against your neighbor, it will absolutely grow into the desire for the person who I envy to fail at whatever they are doing and for it to be destroyed. We can even give room for the desire to make an attempt to interfere so that they fail. 
▪️As a rule, envy starts with suspicion, watching a person closely, and wanting to find something to “latch on to”, etc. There’s no reason that a person needs to “rejoice with those who rejoice”.
▪️A person who believes in the word of God, knows the power of His word, understands that the call to “rejoice with those who rejoice” was not just created for a celebratory atmosphere, but in this there is strength and blessings! This is the best and strongest form of medicine against envy. It gives no place for envy and destroys the favorable environment in which envy thrives. 
▪️Also, this is the best kind of support for the one who is rejoicing. They do not feel uncomfortable, they don’t worry that their joy, their success, is annoying to someone. 
▪️I have had to listen to people who were concerned and feared that their joy may make someone sad. 
▪️Therefore, in “rejoicing with those who  rejoice” we support the joyful so that they may not feel “guilty” by having reached certain heights. The opposite, we say “we are sincerely happy for you” . It is important to know how to express joy and not only think of yourself. 
▪️And the most important thing in “rejoicing with those who rejoice” and sharing in their joy, supporting their joy, success, achievements, and being joyful with our neighbor, we glorify God with this. We understand that the main source that provided this blessing and this success is God. Therefore, “if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it” (1 Corinthians 12:26). With this, the source of joy- God is glorified! 

? Have a good and joyful day and may you have the ability to rejoice not only in your own success but in the success and joy of your neighbor! About the second part of this call “weep with those who weep”, we will discuss tomorrow.
